Eastern Boats 2003 Rendezvous
Constitution Marina
Boston, MA
August 16,2003

Highlights from a gathering of Eastern Boat owners and friends
sponsored by Eastern Boats of Rochester, NH.

Owner Bob Bordeau with production
manager Roger St. Cyr.  These guys
are working hard to constantly upgrade
the boats.  I didn't think you could improve
on the 31', but they implemented some
really exciting changes in the new models.
(see below)

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Walker.
Bob says he's retired, but I'll
bet he would still sell you a boat.
Old habits are hard to break.

Just a few of the many boats that
arrived for the Rendezvous.
A lot of 27s and 31s made the trip.
And throw in a 35' for good measure.
How do they keep them so clean?
By the looks of some of the upgrades
on these new models, owners of
older boats may be trading up soon.

The very capable office
manager Brenda.
  I almost didn't recognize her
without clothes on.  We all know
she is the only one there who
 knows what's going on.

A huge pile of prizes for the raffle.
Top prize was a 2 hp Honda motor
for your dingy.  Nice touch,
and totally unexpected.  I didn't win
anything...but it was fun to watch.  At registration everyone received a rendezvous
tee shirt with the "Life is too short to
drive and ugly boat" slogan
on the back.

A lot of traffic at the Bar.
  Each participant had
 two complementary drinks.

Just about a full house.  How does
lobster, clams, mussles, clam chowder,
corn on the cob, fresh rolls,
and dessert sound.  It was fabulous.

Thanks again to everyone at Eastern
for a really great time!!!

The Band, "I-Land Rokkerz"
Nice mix of Reggae, Calypso,
R&B and Latin.
Larry Sterling is leader.

Engine room vents now above the
gunwale on the 31'.  This took a lot
of internal changes to bring off.

The floor of the pilot house and
the cockpit are raised about two
inches.

It's a superior arrangement.  No more
bent vents from dock crashes and no
water intrusion in high seas.

The 18" extension of the pilot house on KatzMeow is now the standard pilot house layout.  The house roof and side walls have been redesigned to accomplish this and increased in height by 2 inches. So there is no loss of headroom in the house. Note the nice sheer on the back edge of the side wall.  Ladder rungs are perfectly level.  Here you can see the raised floor in the cockpit.

The raised floor in the cockpit results in the swim platform now raised about two
inches higher than before.

Everything is connected together on boats,
changing one thing usually changes
something else.
